To put it simply, inbound marketing is a type of marketing that focuses on getting discovered by customers. Virtually any type of business can use inbound marketing effectively. Traditional marketing is basically outbound marketing, and it involves companies actively searching for customers.
The problem with outbound marketing is the fact that it can be very intrusive, and typically, it utilizes various techniques that are poorly targeted and frequently interrupt people. Some of the poorly-targeted marketing techniques that outbound marketing uses are trade shows, email spam, print advertising and cold-calling.
In most cases, it’s the way that companies use these techniques that causes so many problems. Modern technology is continually making these traditional marketing techniques less effective. Cold calls are blocked by Caller ID, devices like TiVo make television advertising almost pointless and e-mail tools block mass emails. Inbound marketing works much differently than outbound marketing.
Rather than interrupting people watching television with advertisements, companies using inbound marketing produce videos that potential customers would like to see. Instead of placing their confidence in cold calling, companies produce valuable content that causes customers to call them. Continue reading
Email marketing is a great way for a business to keep new and old customers’ engaged and to promote up to date promotions and sales. More than that, they should provide information that the end consumer will find helpful. These tips will ensure that an email marketing campaign is delivering emails that customers are going to read and will engage them in that company.
One of the biggest things a business can do to attract more email subscribers is to make sure that they have an easy sign up process. The sign up form should be kept short and just collect the most important information, such as demographics and interests. There should also be an easy recognizable opt in button that can be included on the company’s home page and social media sites.
Sending out generic emails is not the best way to make sure that a business’ emails are reaching their end user. Making emails personalized and using the demographics and interests that were collected at the time of sign up will make individual customers feel like they matter. By using customers’ names and interests to tailor their emails will be more likely to engage in that email and more importantly that business. Customers will also be more likely to provide valuable feedback. Continue reading

Providing an in-depth history of your company is great but should not be the first bit of content on your site. Provide solutions to the problems your clients are having. The main reason viewers are coming to your site is for content about the problems they are facing, providing them with this information should be first on our list.
“We, Our Company, Our Team” all should sound pretty familiar as the internet is riddled with these terms. In fact they should be! This however is not the most important part of your website or marketing strategy. Continue reading
